After 30 hours we finally arrived in Paris. Apologies for the tautology, but France is well very French.
Syndey AP was a breeze, Bea now understands why I am such a travel snob. 1st Class lounge access and a free massage and nice lunch, she wanted to stay there for our holiday.
After a very nice flight, back in cattle class for once, on Qantas from Sydney to Hong Kong. We then boarded the Cathay Pacific flight from HK to Paris. Oh boy, the aircraft is still fitted out with the stone age economy seat, little comfort for me. Left Bea very frazzled by the end.
We found navigating to our apartment very easy, simply buy a ticket an hop on. We then had breakfast, including a $11 bowl of coffee. Then call our host, no answer, left it til 10 o'clock. No answer, phone the office, leave a message on the mobile.
1200 Lunch, Sean asks "Do you speak english?" Non, well there's a surprise.
1300, phone the office, we are very busy, yes we understand, but can you give us an approximate time, we are very busy! We know, but we're very tired we'd like to know. In bad tempered French way (like it's ouf fault they are busy). In the afternoon, what times that for God's sack? Finally 1400 to 1430.
1415, Bea suffers sense of humour failure. Phones the mobile, no answer (now theres a surprise). Phones the office, gets the same result, turns the tears on, 1 hours, Paris warned to evacuate as localised flooding starts in the Latin Quarter.
1430 have coffee, 1500 Bea stretching Hot Choc out. 1530 he turns up, yay.
